The Opportunity

The Town of Ransom Canyon relied on its website as the primary place residents go for information, public documents, and town updates. However, the existing website had become difficult to navigate as more pages and documents were added over time.

Residents often had trouble locating key information, and the town needed a more organized and accessible way to store and display important public documents such as agendas, ordinances, and meeting materials.

The goal was to create a website that felt modern, easy to navigate, and efficient for both residents and town staff to use.

The Strategy

I approached the redesign with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and long-term usability.

Rather than simply refreshing the design, the project focused on restructuring the site architecture to make information easier to find.

The Solution

Streamlined Navigation

I reorganized the website structure by introducing dropdown menus within the main navigation and sub-menus on key parent pages.

This created multiple pathways for residents to access the same information, making the website easier to explore regardless of how users naturally browse.

The result is a navigation system that feels intuitive and organized rather than overwhelming.

Modernized Visual Identity

To create a more cohesive and polished digital presence, the website’s color palette was updated to align with the town’s official logo.

This subtle but important change helped modernize the site while maintaining the town’s established identity.

Organized Public Document System

Municipal websites often house hundreds of important public documents, which can quickly become difficult to manage.

To solve this, I implemented a structured PDF document filing system that allows files to be organized into clearly labeled folders.

Residents can now:

• Expand folders to quickly view related documents
• Access files in an organized format
• Download multiple documents at once when needed

This system improves transparency, accessibility, and long-term organization for the town.
